Questions we get asked +
Who is Kérastase Résistance for?
Résistance is Kérastase's range for weakened hair: lengths that snap when you brush them, split ends that keep coming back, hair that feels brittle after years of heat or colour. Kérastase built it to strengthen and resurface the fibre. If your hair is dry but not breaking, another range may suit you better. Our Résistance guide goes into how it works.
Which Résistance shampoo and conditioner should I use together?
The pair is Bain Force Architecte to wash and Ciment Anti-Usure to condition. Shampoo once or twice, gently squeeze out the water, then work the Ciment through mid-lengths and ends. Leave it a minute or two and rinse. Comb it through with a wide-tooth comb while it's in, rather than brushing wet hair afterwards, which is when weak hair breaks most.
How do I use Ciment Thermique?
It's a leave-in heat protector for weakened hair. Apply a couple of pumps to towel-dried hair, comb it through so every section is covered, then blow-dry. Use it every time you use a dryer, straightener or curling iron. It also makes a blow-dry smoother, so many of our clients use it even on days they only rough-dry.
Should I choose Résistance or Première?
Choose Résistance if the main problem is breakage and brittleness. Choose Première if your hair has been coloured or lightened and feels rough or coated, particularly if hard water is part of it. Both repair, they just come at damage from different angles. Our Kérastase range guide lays out every range side by side.
Is Résistance too heavy for fine hair?
Usually not. Bain Force Architecte and Ciment Anti-Usure are fine for most hair types if you keep the conditioner to the ends. With very fine hair, use a small amount of Ciment Thermique and keep it off the roots, or your blow-dry can drop. If it still feels flat, use less product before you think about switching ranges.
