Guide: Best shampoo for frizzy hair NZ

What actually helps with frizz +

Frizz is mostly dryness and a raised cuticle, so the fix is moisture plus smoothing. Use a smoothing shampoo and conditioner such as Pureology Smooth Perfection, a leave-in or cream before you blow-dry (Kérastase Gloss Absolu Frizz-Glaze Cream), and finish with a light oil on the ends.

Questions we get asked +

What's the best product for frizzy hair?
A smoothing cream or leave-in on damp hair before drying usually makes the biggest difference. Pair it with a smoothing shampoo and conditioner.

Why is my hair so frizzy?
Usually dryness, damage or humidity. Coloured and curly hair tend to frizz more because the cuticle is more open.

Does heat styling make frizz worse?
It can if you skip heat protection. A heat protector and a smoothing tool, like the ghd duet, help hair dry smoother with less damage.

Are anti-frizz products OK for curly hair?
Yes, choose lighter creams so curls keep their shape. See our curly and wavy hair picks.
