Who is Kérastase Genesis for?

Kérastase makes Genesis for weakened hair that sheds from breakage, the kind you see on your brush and in the shower. It strengthens the hair and the scalp care helps keep it in good shape. What's the difference between the Genesis ampoules and the serum?

The serum is for daily use, applied to the scalp and left in. The ampoules are a concentrated course of treatment: the 10-vial box is a short course and the 42-vial Cure Anti-Chute box is a longer one. Follow the pack directions and keep using the shampoo alongside. Many people use the serum ongoing and the ampoules as a boost.

Should I use Bain Hydra-Fortifiant or Bain Nutri-Fortifiant?

Hydra-Fortifiant is lighter and suits a normal to oily scalp. Nutri-Fortifiant is richer and suits a drier scalp and thicker lengths. If your roots get greasy within a day or two, go Hydra. Hydra-Fortifiant also comes in a 30ml travel size if you want to try it first.

How do I use the Genesis serum?

Apply it to a dry or towel-dried scalp, section by section, and massage it in. Don't rinse. Most people use it daily or every few days alongside the Genesis shampoo, and the results build with consistent use. Step-by-step in how to use Genesis serum.

What's Genesis Défense Thermique for?

It's a heat-protecting blow-dry primer for weak hair. Spray it on towel-dried lengths before blow-drying, wand or straightener. Hair that's already prone to breakage is the hair heat hurts most, so it's worth using every time you use heat.

Should I use Genesis or Densifique?

Genesis is for shedding caused by breakage and weak lengths. Densifique is for hair that looks thinner or less dense than it used to. If you're shedding, Genesis. If it's been gradually looking finer, Densifique. Not sure which? Ask us in salon.
