Kérastase Blond Absolu
Blond Absolu is the Kérastase range for lightened hair: blonde, balayage, highlights and silver. It does two jobs our Queenstown colourists care about, keeping tone cool and putting strength back into hair that's been bleached.

Which Blond Absolu product do you need? +
For brassy or yellow tones, use Bain Ultra Violet (the purple shampoo) once or twice a week, with Masque Ultra Violet when it needs a stronger tone. For everyday washing, Bain Lumière is the gentle shampoo and Cicaflash is the light conditioner. Masque Extreme is the rich weekly mask for dry, rough blonde.
Leave-ins: Cicaplasme protects from heat when you blow-dry, Cicanuit works overnight, and L'Huile Cicaextreme is the hair oil. Read the best Kérastase for blonde hair for a full routine, and how to keep blonde from going brassy.
Questions we get asked +
Is Kérastase Blond Absolu a purple shampoo?
Bain Ultra Violet is. The rest of the range, including Bain Lumière and Cicaflash, isn't purple; they're for strength and softness. Most blondes use the purple shampoo once or twice a week and Bain Lumière the rest of the time.
How often should I use Bain Ultra Violet?
Start once a week. If brassiness comes back quickly, go to twice a week. Using it every wash can make very light blonde look dull or slightly lilac.
Is Blond Absolu good for bleached, damaged hair?
Yes, that's who it's made for. Masque Extreme and Cicaplasme are the two to start with on dry, fragile blonde. For snapping or very over-processed hair, Première is worth a look too.
Can I use Blond Absolu on silver or grey hair?
Yes. The Ultra Violet shampoo and mask cancel yellow tones in silver and grey hair as well as blonde.
